- Contact data: Email address, phone number, home address
- Family data: Details of your partner, children, guardians, executors and beneficiaries (including their names, dates of birth, addresses and relationships to you)
- Financial data: Payment information if you purchase our document storage service (processed securely by Stripe — we never store card details)
- Document data: The content of your Will, including your estate distribution wishes, funeral preferences and specific gifts
- Technical data: Browser type, device type, and usage data collected via cookies (see Section 8)
3. How We Use Your Information
We use your personal data for the following purposes:
- To provide the service: To generate your Will document and make it available for download
- To manage your account: To store your Will securely if you purchase our storage service
- To process payments: To handle your payment for optional storage services via Stripe
- To communicate with you: To send you your Will confirmation and any service-related updates
- To improve our service: To understand how users interact with our questionnaire and identify areas for improvement
- To comply with legal obligations: To meet our obligations under applicable law
4. Legal Basis for Processing

- Railway: Our cloud infrastructure provider, who hosts our servers and database securely in the EU/UK
- Legal professionals: Where you request a review of your Will by one of our estate planning specialists
- Law enforcement: Where we are legally required to do so
All third parties we work with are required to handle your data securely and in accordance with UK GDPR.
6. How Long We Keep Your Data
- Will questionnaire data: Retained for 7 years from the date of submission, in line with standard legal document retention requirements
- Payment records: Retained for 7 years as required by HMRC regulations
- Marketing data: Until you unsubscribe or request deletion
- Technical logs: Retained for 90 days
You may request deletion of your data at any time (see Section 7). Note that we may be required to retain certain records for legal compliance reasons.
7. Your Rights
Under UK GDPR, you have the following rights regarding your personal data:
